A retro arcade bark-em-up game
ProtoCorgi is a retro-style horizontal shoot ’em up. Players must take on the identity of a cyborg corgi and are tasked with the mission of rescuing their owner from an alien race bent on ruling the whole galaxy. As players shoot, dodge, and bark, they can readjust the difficulty level for a more enjoyable experience.
Similar to Streets of Rogue, and Warblade, the game challenges players with endless waves of enemies, gargantuan bosses, and countless obstacles that put their wit and skills to the test.
Who can play it?
Available in 12 languages, this horizontal arcade shooter is due to be available on Windows and has been featured by Ravenscourt at gaming events. The demo version is available for all, but the full version has yet to be released on Steam. Younger shooters are welcome to play, particularly since they can adjust the difficulty from ‘pup’ to ‘ultra nightmare.’
What is it about?
In this pixel arcade shooter, players assume the identity of a C³ class or Cute Cyber Corgi pup named Bullet. He’s hellbent on saving his master, Nixie, a scientist kidnapped by an alien overlord. To shoot things and progress through the game, players must bark at them, pick up weapons, and swerve around obstacles.
What’s special about it?
Seemingly inspired by Konami's Gradius series, this retro arcade shooter game comes with its own level editor, which is unusual for a shmup. There's also a leaderboard, bullet customization, 27 weapons, and a variety of in-game secrets.
Fun shmup about an intergalactic pup
This wacky shoot ’em up is surprisingly enjoyable and well-made. The easy power-ups, side-scrolling controls, adorable main character, and an endless shower of bullets keep players on their toes.
